Josh Boltz presents award-winning paper at global water event: hydrodynamic models for biofilm reactors with carrier migration

Joshua P. Boltz, Ph.D., P.E., BCEE, F.IWA, a water resource recovery technology and innovation leader with Volkert, Inc., recently presented his published research paper, Hydrodynamic Model for Biofilm Reactors with Carrier Migration  , at the Frontiers International Conference on Wastewater Treatment (FICWTM) in Palermo, Italy, May 21-24, 2017. The conference was an International Water Association event.

The paper develops and evaluates a biofilm reactor sub-model’s capacity for recounting biofilm reactor performance with the movement of a submerged free-moving biofilm carrier population. Dr. Boltz received “Best Paper Award” at his presentation of the manuscript during FICWTM 2017.

Dr. Boltz has more than 15 years of experience specializing in wastewater treatment technology, including water resource recovery facility design, applied research and development, program management, and the development and application of propriety tools such as water resource recovery facility simulators and parametric cost estimating software.
