THREE-DIMENSIONAL
PHOTOGRAPHIC OVERLAYS & ENHANCEMENTS:
RETURN

The most visually "real" architectural and engineering illustration is the 3D photographic overlay.

It is developed by scanning the desired photographic view and directly superimposing a three-dimensional computer-generated model of the project. This technique actually places the simulated project in its future location and creates an unmatched sense of realism, dimension and proportional relationships. Unlike the two- dimensional photographic overlay, the superimposed project image can be viewed from any angle and provided with lighting from any time of day, night or season. This allows multiple views, overlaid on desired photographs, to be prepared in a relatively short timeframe.

The three-dimensional photographic overlay technique is the most effective in presenting a project's relationship to its environment and the visual impact it presents. It is difficult to determine what is real and what is simulated.  Uses include promotional brochures, financial packages, public awareness presentations, newspaper / magazine publications, and client communications.

The product requires the same efforts associated with developing a three-dimensional computer model; however, once developed, virtually any number of "still" views can be generated.
