Sitework
At Volkert, Inc. involvement in a project
often means obtaining the necessary permits, clearing and grubbing the
land, designing the access roads, and then going about the business of
designing the water, sewer, and electrical systems that will be required.
All of these services are a integral part of sitework. Whether the
site engineering services are for a major port facility, the development
of an apartment complex, a recreational facility or a fast-food
restaurant, Volkert is ready to provide all the services necessary to
insure client satisfaction.
Every Volkert project begins with
essentially the same first step, which is to gather all available data
about the project and analyze it. Representative
data would include design plans, tax maps, topographical maps, aerial
mapping, zoning maps, comprehensive plans, identification of stakeholders,
and review of any other studies or material that has been prepared
concerning the project.
Following the collection of data,
Volkert schedules a time to visit the site and review the scope of work
with the client. Site visits
are perfect opportunities to review such things as access/egress, site
drainage, landscaping, existing utilities, and to confirm the accuracy of
the preliminary data collected.
Since Volkert has a permanent staff of environmental
scientists, land planners, and landscape architects, in addition to civil,
structural, and electrical engineers, we are able to pay particular
attention to the environment and the aesthetics of the surroundings.
